BASILICO enthält 100 g/l (9,1 % w/w) Mesotrione als Suspensionskonzentrat. Es ist ein selektives Nachauflaufherbizid zur Bekämpfung von einjährigen zweikeimblättrigen Unkräutern in Futter- und Körnermais. Als Triketon-Herbizid (Gruppe 27) wirkt es als 4-HPPD-Inhibitor, der die Bildung von Pigmenten stört, die für die Photosynthese erforderlich sind.
